Attractions in and around Göhren
Göhren: Urlaub am Kap Nordperd auf dem Mönchgut
Göhren lies at Rügen's easternmost tip on the Mönchgut peninsula – where the north and south beaches wrap around the wooded cape of Nordperd. The former fishing village is now a seaside resort with a UNESCO biosphere reserve on its doorstep.
The accommodation scene is unpretentious and family-run: guesthouses like the Deichgraf serve breakfast with a personal touch, hotels like the Alexa and the modern Vju Hotel offer comfort with a sea view. Added to that are many private holiday homes and rooms – from the Haus Meeresrauschen to the listings of the Normann family.
Göhren's speciality is its double-beach location: when the east wind blows, you simply switch to the sheltered south side. The Museumshof heritage farm, the Rasender Roland railway and the Mönchgut hiking trails keep the village interesting beyond the beach chair. Asked for directly with the host, the booking stays commission-free – and the tip for the best sea-buckthorn cake comes gratis.
